Time for Learning, Sharing, Fellowship, and Fun

The LiveText community, along with their interested colleagues and guests, are invited to attend the 2008 LiveText Collaboration Conference in downtown Chicago. The complete LiveText Collaboration Conference experience consists of a four day learning experience filled with interactive workshops, guest speakers, informative peer-conducted sessions on a variety of topics, social and networking events, and of course, fun in the Windy City!

The 2008 LiveText Collaboration Conference will take place from July 23rd to 25th at The Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The Westin Michigan Avenue provides a wonderful and exciting setting for this community occasion. Located near Chicago's wonderful lakefront, The Westin Michigan Avenue is situated conveniently in the heart of downtown Chicago, near major cultural attractions, the city's business and financial district, and world-renowned shopping along the Magnificent Mile.

Conference Theme

Within the past ten years, technology has certainly begun to make its impact on higher education. From simple classroom communication to planning entire curriculums, the ever-changing advances in technology have prompted, and will continue to prompt educators, to not only rethink the way they teach but most importantly…learn. Technology and education have now entered a partnership, where both cease to exist without each other.

This partnership presents fertile grounds for innovation-innovation that has redefined and enhanced learning. The 2008 LiveText Collaboration Conference theme, "Encompassing Learning Through Innovation", aims to focus the LiveText community on supporting and elevating learning through innovation-both now and in the years to come.

Today's students must possess a significantly different skill set than in the past. This will require today's educators to embrace and establish new vehicles and paradigms for teaching, which includes technology and innovation. Today's educators are positioned to be inventive leaders with creative solutions to complex challenges and view challenges from multiple viewpoints.
